Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise of round 4 was guest Sharks' (3-2) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Hawks (2-3) 97-89 on Sunday evening. American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-1988, college: Bellarmine) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Australian forward Grant Anticevich (206-1999, college: California) chipped in 27 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Hyrum Harris (198-1996, college: Umpqua CC, agency: ProMondo Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Sharks moved-up to third place, which they share with Tuatara and Bulls. Hawks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Jets and Airs. Sharks is looking forward to face Saints (#9) in Wellington in the next round where they are favorite. Hawks will play on the road against Jets in Palmerston North and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Huskies (3-2) against fifth ranked Bulls (3-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Huskies were defeated by Bulls in a tough game in Pukekohe 85-90. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Isaac Davidson (198-1997, college: Sonoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Dominique Kelman-Poto contributed with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Australian guard Jarrad Weeks (183-1989) replied with 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Huskies. Bulls moved-up to third place, which they share with Sharks and Tuatara. Bulls will play against league's leader Nuggets in Dunedin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Huskies will play at home against the league's leader Nuggets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Saints can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Giants (0-5) 112-91 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Kyle Adnam who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 assists. Saints' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Kavion Pippen responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Saints maintains ninth position with 1-3 record. It was Giants' fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Saints will meet higher ranked Sharks (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Giants will play against Airs (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.

Rest of the games of round 4 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
winless Giants lost to undefeated Nuggets in Dunedin 83-90. Rams beat Sharks at home 102-86. Jets lost to Airs on the opponent's court 86-93.




Nuggets - Giants 90-83

There was no surprise in Dunedin where bottom-ranked Giants (0-5) were defeated by top-ranked Nuggets (4-0) 90-83 on Thursday. Nuggets made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Giants turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian guard Michael Harris (193-1999) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jaquori McLaughlin (193-1998, college: UCSB, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. Nuggets' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Avery Woodson (188-1993, college: Butler) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Samuel Dempster (194-1990) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nuggets have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Giants at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Nuggets will meet Bulls (#4) in the next round. Giants will play against Airs (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.

Rams - Sharks 102-86

Everything could happen in Christchurch at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Rams and 5th ranked Sharks had identical 3-1 record. This time Rams used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Southland 102-86 on Friday night. Rams dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 34 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Rams forced 19 Sharks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sharks' players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Tai Wynyard (208-1998, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and international guard Taylor Britt (187-1996, college: Southeast CC) who added 11 points and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-1988, college: Bellarmine) responded with 29 points and 7 assists and guard Alonzo Burton (193-1993, agency: IceBasket) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Rams and four Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rams have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Nuggets. Sharks at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Tuatara and Bulls. Rams will meet at home Saints (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play against Saints (#9) and hope to secure a win.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in New Plymouth where 7th ranked Jets (2-3) were defeated by eighth ranked Airs (2-3) 93-86 on Saturday. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of Armon Fletcher (196-1995, college: SIU) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds and guard David Azore (194-1999, college: UT Arlington) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Airs players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Javion Blake (191-1997, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists and forward Danny Pippen (206-1997, college: Kent St.) scored 32 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Airs moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hawks and Jets. Airs will meet bottom-ranked Giants (#10) in the next round. Jets will play against Hawks (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
